Biography
Dr. Escalante has been teaching Spanish in Ferriday, Louisiana since 2021. He has over a decade of experience in the field of education and is recognized for his commitment to pedagogical excellence, academic rigor, and instructional innovation. He holds two Master’s degrees—one in Teaching English and another in Education with a concentration in English as a Second Language (ESL)—and earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education in December 2025.
In 2023, Dr. Escalante was honored as Middle School Teacher of the Year for Concordia Parish School District, a testament to his impact and commitment to excellence in education.
Dr. Escalante is also an active conference speaker. Since 2023, he has been a featured presenter at the Louisiana Foreign Language Teachers’ Association (LFLTA) annual conventions and has delivered training sessions for international teachers in collaboration with the Louisiana Department of Education. He has also presented at the Louisiana Teacher Leader Summit and the Mississippi Foreign Language Association (MFLA) conference, where he shared innovative approaches to second language instruction.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Escalante is the founder of LanguageTip.com, a platform created to support language teachers and promote effective language learning strategies. He is fluent in both English and Spanish, and is currently learning French and German.
A lifelong learner and mentor, he finds joy in helping others, reading, traveling, and playing chess—a passion he actively shares with students and the school community.
